We would like to give a very warm welcome to Winchester BID’s newest recruit, Paul Spencer. Paul will be joining the team from 16th January 2017 as our Projects & Operations Officer.
Paul joins Winchester BID from Eastleigh Borough Council where he worked for 9 years as Creative Industries Officer supporting the development of the local creative economy and championing the borough as a creative and vibrant place to live, work and visit. He was based at The Point arts centre where he launched new workspaces for creative start-up businesses before working as part of a wider team to develop new facilities including designer-maker studios in the town centre and a digital media hub at Eastleigh Business Centre. He was involved in regeneration and economic development projects, delivered events to encourage new people to visit the town and provided advice to local businesses. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is currently working part-time towards his PhD at the University of Winchester. In recent years he has also been an external advisor on research and innovation for Southampton Solent University, worked on projects with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Creative Network South as well as worked as a business advisor for Winchester City Council’s Arts Advisory Service.
Paul says “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Winchester BID team and to have the opportunity to work with the city’s vibrant business community to ensure that Winchester continues to be a great place for both work and play. I am looking forward to working with the team to deliver a range of projects and services which help to make Winchester a successful city as well as an attractive and profitable place to do business.”
Please do drop in to the BID office to meet Paul in the New Year.
