Last week, Catherine Turness met with Winchester City Council to discuss the recommendations set out in the BID’s statement, which can be read here.
Winchester City Council responded to Central Government’s consultation earlier this month requesting that the discretionary relief fund is allocated over a four year period when businesses will be most affected. We also talked through setting up criteria so businesses are able to apply easily for the funding and the BID has offered assistance to WCC to set up criteria so the funding is directed to those who need it most.
WCC and the BID agreed to discuss further when Central Government have made an announcement, which despite the election, it is believed information would be available before 8 June.
