This evening Winchester BID join forces with their long term partners Hampshire Chronicle and the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to launch the 14th annual Winchester Business Excellence Awards. Once again these awards will provide an excellent opportunity to allow local businesses to celebrate their success as well as offering a much appreciated chance for the team to get their glad-rags on and enjoy an excellent evening at the Guildhall.
We’re very proud that the awards have been running successfully for so many years but that does not mean that we feel the need to rest on our laurels – we will of course be sponsoring an award again this year but choosing to move away from the Commitment to the City award that we have sponsored over the past few years. Some very worthy businesses have taken home that accolade over the years, most recently Winchester Film and Art CIC, a business which makes a formidable contribution to the local cultural scene.
Tonight’s official launch event will take place at Norton Park Hotel for the second year running. Gathered together will be the various sponsors and organising partners of the event as well as the press and, perhaps most importantly, a small congregation of award hopefuls. The event marks the beginning of a well practised campaign that begins with the gathering of entries, continues through the intensely tricky judging process and culminates in the much loved award ceremony in June. Between now and then many of Winchester best businesses will be vetted by our expert panel of local judges, including the financial experts from Natwest, and when June arrives we will be thrilled to present the ultimate accolade, the Denplan Business of the Year Award to the cream of the crop.
