Winchester can be very busy during the festive season with visitors and Christmas shoppers and although the city has good public transport connections, if you are travelling by car it can be difficult to find a parking space, this is why Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) have launched a range of initiatives to help make parking easier.

New for 2019 – Park and Stride for BID members available Monday to Friday at Winchester Football Club
A new initiative from Winchester Football Club and Winchester BID will see the car park at Winchester FC opened up throughout December to provide 80 spaces for businesses to park for just £99 for the month (with a 25% discount available for the first 40 cars). Park at Stride at Winchester Football Club will be available from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday throughout December. To purchase your monthly parking pass, please email Matt Richbell: commercial.wcfc@outlook.com.

Just a short walk through the picturesque River Park to the city centre, Winchester FC hopes this will help to alleviate stress for commuters and businesses trying to find a space in the city’s busy car parks throughout December. “A monthly parking pass is a stress-free solution for businesses to ensure their staff can park easily, safely and affordably during December whilst raising much-needed funds for Winchester FC.” explained Club Chairman, Elliot Trodd. He enthused “It’s also a great way to stretch your legs before work and could help to reduce traffic jams in the city centre. It’s a win, win!”

Paul Spencer, Executive Director of Winchester BID added ‘We are very pleased to support this new initiative which will provide additional parking provision during the busy festive season while also helping to raise funds for Winchester FC.”

Winchester FC, which has just amalgamated the Winchester Youth FC and Winchester City Ladies Flyers, has future plans for a brand new all-weather 3G pitch. With the First Team flying high in Division One South of the Southern League and now with over 700 players in the whole Club, these exciting new developments are bringing Winchester FC right back into the heart of the local community.
