We are thrilled to announce that after a successful internal re-structure, our BID Manager Catherine Turness has been appointed to the position of Executive Director.
Catherine joined the BID in July 2011 during which time she has been totally committed to the BID and the city, working tirelessly to implement beneficial projects, improve services and lobby relevant departments on key issues within our BID area. Catherine said “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Executive Director and am very much looking forward to embarking on this new challenge. I will be focussing on continuing to develop strong relationships across the city, consulting with businesses, shaping new project plans and developing the next business plan for the BID ahead of the second renewal ballot in 2017”.
This dedication has not gone unnoticed, with Catherine announced as a finalist in the Rising Star category for the prestigious Women in Business awards.
“The Business Magazine’s ‘Women in Business’ awards recognises and celebrates the contribution female talent plays not only within individual businesses but the significant impact it has on the wider economy,” commented Claire Edmunds CEO of strategic Business Development specialists Clarify.
“As a sponsor of the awards we were both impressed and inspired by the abundance of talent; these really are talented women who are making their mark in their respective industries. The shortlist of finalists are all worthy of the title and are great role models for women. We look forward to announcing the winners on 10 September at the awards ceremony at Oakley Hall.”
We are sure you’ll all join us in wishing Catherine the very best in her new position and the upcoming Award Ceremony.
Chris Turner (former Executive Director) will move to the role of Business Development Director on 1 September.
