Savings and Advisory Service
Our new Savings and Advisory Service for BID members is offered in partnership with Winchester-based business management consultants Auditel. We previously offered a similar service which enabled some BID members to make substantial savings on their utility costs. With Auditel’s expertise, the service has been expanded across a whole range of business supplies and services, gas and electricity, merchant card services, waste management, ICT, fleet procurement, HR, fuel cards, print and more. Many BID members may even be able to recoup the full cost of their BID levy by using this service. Developing the Workforce
To respond to the training needs of BID members, we offer free or heavily subsided courses and workshops for business owners and their staff based on local demand. We also provide a mystery shopper programme to enhance customer service delivery across all sectors.
Winchester Business Centre Workspace
In 2013 we opened up our workspace and launched hot-desk and virtual office packages at Winchester Business Centre to support the growth of start-up businesses in the city. This has provided affordable workspace for new businesses as well as additional income for the BID which is reinvested into projects and services to improve the city. Winchester Business Centre also has a 12 seat meeting room which is available for BID members to hire free-of-charge.
Employee Wellbeing Scheme
In 2020 we launched a scheme for employees of businesses which are BID members to raise awareness of the importance of wellbeing in the workplace and to encourage people who work in Winchester to use local businesses which offer health-related events and services to enhance their fitness and wellbeing. There is a regular feature in our fortnightly enews with useful information and upcoming activities and events.
Networking and Events
Winchester BID works closely with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to sponsor a range of events, including a Business Breakfast with the MP for Winchester. We also offer regular networking events with guest speakers covering a range of topics at Winchester Business Centre. In addition we host more formal events, including our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and BID Forums to enable local businesses to keep updated on our activities and discuss key issues in the city.
The BID has provided support for businesses in times of need, including offering snow clearing in winter, flood support and at times assistance during power loss and road works disruption. We will continue to help to enable business continuity for our BID members.
