Topic – Identifying and developing talent for SMEs

Date: 17th March 2015

Time: from 8.30 am to 9.30 am
Venue: Dutton Gregory, St Peter Street, Winchester. SO23 8BT
Speaker – James Richardson

The relevance to people management – People are critical to the success of any business and it’s particularly important for smaller organisations that they recruit the brightest talents, and make the most of them once they are in place. To achieve this – particularly for companies that are not able to call on the resources available to larger organisations – is one of the toughest challenges that they face.

James Richardson will be leading a discussion about how to approach the issues of identifying talent in employees or potential employees, and how to make the most of that talent in small or medium sized enterprises.

James is a consultant specialising in advising Companies about HR issues and Anti-Bribery: before becoming a consultant, he spent thirty years working in HR including many years as Group HR Director and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for a multi-national Publishing Group. In running the Group’s Graduate Recruitment Scheme, he had a particular remit for identifying and developing the potential for talent on a shoestring budget, and he plans to share some of the lessons that he learned in the course of doing this.

Discussion is welcome on these lively and challenging issues.
