After months of lobbying by the BID and partner agencies, “Hed High” on Stockbridge Road, Winchester, has finally been closed down by the police. The shop, which sold “legal highs” was the cause of much disturbance and anti-social behaviour in Winchester. This included people engaging in sex acts, urinating in car parks and shoplifting to feed their addiction to said legal highs, the court heard.

The three month closure, which takes place with immediate effect, will take the shop up to the end of its lease, meaning that it will now be closed indefinitely. The building owner says that he was mislead by the tenant, who claimed he intended to use the premises as a clothes shop.
